Questions, Questions, everyone has questions!

What kind of fabric can I cut with my HoneyDoo cutter?

We built the cutters for use with 100% wool, but certainly feel there should be no problem with blends such as 80/20 as long as the percentage of wool content is higher than the "other". If you have a 3/32" cutter head, we do not recommend using felted blanket or coat weight wool as it may cause the stress to the cutter blades. By felted I mean wool of blanket or coat weight that has been washed in hot water and has thickened significantly as a result.

What kind of maintenance does my cutter need?

We recommend a weekly clean out by spraying between the cutter heads with compressed air. Compressed air is used alot to clean out computer keyboards. We have found that wool dust can penetrate into the smallest openings and by keeping it regularly blown out, it will not build up and cause problems with the cutter head. If your cutter suddenly becomes more difficult to hand crank or doesn't seem as "smooth", this may be the problem.

If I have a problem with my cutter, what should I do?

Please feel free to call or email us. Sometimes we can identify and correct the problem over the phone. If it does need to be sent back, we will determine what the issue is and call you. If we determine that it is our "fault" we will reimburse you for shipping, repair it and ship it back to you no charge. If it is something that we feel has been caused by something you did, we will call you to discuss repair charges and you will need to pay for shipping it back as well.
